Ms. Ma Ni
Senior Ballet Teacher
Born in Henan, China, Ms. Ma was trained at the Liaoning School of Ballet, affiliated to Liao Ning Ballet Company from 2003 to 2009, where she studied Classical Ballet, Character Dance, Modern dance and Chinese dance. After graduation, Ms. Ma entered Beijing Dance Academy for further studies. In 2010, she started her Diploma in Dance course at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in 2013. During this time, Ms. Ma participated in various competitions including CSTD in 2013 and emerged as the winner, as well as the Youth America Grand Prix ballet competition in Japan in 2012.
2013-2023Singapore Ballet
Upon graduation, Ms. Ma joined Singapore Ballet in 2013 and performed in various roles including Juliet’s friends in Romeo and Juliet (2020), Cygnets and Princesses in Swan Lake (2019), Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, as well as Bournonville Divertissements, La Ventana, Tarantella, Rubies, Concerto Barocco, Serenade,Paquita, Linea Adora, SYNC, Midnight Waltzes, Schubert Symphony, Evening Voices, Unexpected B, Blue Snow, Variation Serieuses and Birds of Paradise by Choo-San Goh, The Four Temperaments by George Balanchine, Opus 25 by Edwaard Liang, The Sound was our Ocean by Loughlan Prior, Jabula and 4Seasons by Natalie Weir, The Third Reset by Christina Chan, Without You and Quiver by Timothy Rushton, Symphony in Three movements and Purcell Pieces by Nils Christe, After Happy Ever by Alice Topps.
After a 10-year career as a professional dancer, Ms. Ma took her final bow in the brand new production of Cinderella 2023 as a Fairy Season (Summer).
